Northern Explorer in the Canadian Rockies

8 Nights / 9 Days

You'll have a night in Vancouver before you embark on the Whistler Mountaineer to Whistler, site of the 2010 Winter Olympics. You'll spend the night in the mountain village of Whistler before boarding the Rocky Mountaineer for your two day train journey to Jasper. This tour follows a rugged, northern route so you'll be treated to spectacular scenery from start to finish.

When you reach Jasper, you can either pick up your rental car for your GPS guided drive through the Canadian Rockies or take wonderful guided tours by motor coach to Jasper, Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Glacier, Yoho National Park and Banff. Your time at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise includes a guided lake shore stroll.

This vacation begins with an overnight stay in Vancouver each Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday from May 11 to October 12, 2008.

RedLeaf Service - Reserved seating in comfortable, traditional train cars with picture windows. Breakfast and lunch are served at your seat each day and nonalcoholic beverages are included.
GoldLeaf Service - Reserved seating in the GoldLeaf elevated dome car. Breakfast and lunch are served in the GoldLeaf dining car and GoldLeaf passengers have access to the outdoor viewing platform. Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages are included as is dinner in Kamloops.
