You can take a train from Vancouver all across Canada and end up in Halifax Nova Scotia. If you don't want to go that far, you can stop in Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto or Montreal. On the Rocky Mountaineer, you can visit the Canadian Rockies via Banff or Jasper.
Rocky Mountaineer offers two day train service between Vancouver and either Banff or Jasper.
If you want to go by train but don't want to spend time in the Canadian Rockies, you can take the overnight train from Vancouver to Jasper then on to Edmonton and points east.
