The shortest possible Rocky Mountaineer train trip includes two days on the train and one night hotel stay in either Kamloops or Quesnel, two small towns in the British Columbia interior.
These two day trips go both east from Vancouver to Jasper, Banff or Calgary, and west from Calgary, Banff or Jasper to Vancouver. Two day train trips are also available between Whistler and Jasper and between Calgary or Banff and Jasper.

The train portion of this tour is identical to that of the two day train trip. The Classic Rail Vacation, however, also includes hotel stays the night before the train departs and the night the train arrives at your destination. You get, in other words, two days on the train, three nights accommodations, breakfast and lunch on the train both days, all transfers between hotels and the train and all luggage handling.
