Rocky Mountaineer Train to Whistler
If you are looking for a short, one or two day, train trip from Vancouver, consider Rocky Mountaineer's Vancouver/Whistler train trip. The train to Whistler is available daily, except Tuesday and Wednesday, from May 14 until September 29, 2010.
From downtown Vancouver, you will be picked up from one of a number of Vancouver hotels and delivered to the Rocky Mountaineer train station in North Vancouver. The train leaves the North Vancouver rail station at 8:15 AM. The return trip begins in Whistler at 2:30 PM.
Breakfast is served on the train and either High Tea or a late lunch (depending on the service you choose) is served on the return trip from Whistler to Vancouver. And when you reach the North Vancouver train station in the evening, buses will be waiting to return you to downtown Vancouver.

After the Rocky Mountaineer train to Whistler leaves the North Vancouver station, it skirts the coast, goes under the Lions Gate bridge and continues along the shore of West Vancouver before it reaches the banks of Howe Sound. From there it hugs the coastline to Squamish.
Along the way, you'll see ocean, mountains, rivers, lakes, the Porteau Cove campground and dive area, Britannia Beach historic community and Shannon Falls. Once you reach Squamish, the train leaves the ocean and goes into the Cheakamus Canyon before emerging in the rugged mountains where you'll see glaciers and the spectacular Brandywine Falls
If you have more than one day, we recommend your spending a night or two in Whistler. The area is spectacular and Whistler hotels are beautiful and affordable.
Call 1-800-913-9207 or 1-604-990-9299 or Email for more information and reservations.
Once you arrive in Whistler, there's a lot to do. Take the Peak to Peak gondola between Whistler and Blackcomb mountain, go ziptrekking, walk around Lost Lake or visit Whistler Village shops and restaurants. There's also time for flightseeing over glaciers and rugged mountain ranges.
Whistler Rail and Wings Adventure
Another alternative is to take our Rocky Mountaineer and Whistler float plane trip. You'll take the train in one direction and a float plane in the other. This memorable trip includes the spectacular scenery from the train and the dramatic scenery from the air. You'll see Mt. Garibaldi, Black Tusk, Garibaldi Lake and amazing wilderness on your 35 minute flight between Whistler's Green Lake where you'll take off and Vancouver's Inner Harbour where you'll land. (This trip is available in either direction.)
Price for the train/float plane adventure is $298 per person + 5% tax for Classic Service and $388 per person + 5% tax for Dome Service.
Call 1-800-913-9207 or 1-604-990-9299 or Email for more information and reservations.
As you plan, keep in mind that if you take the train in both directions, you'll have about 2 hours in Whistler. If you take the Rocky Mountaineer in one direction and the float plane in the other, you'll have about 5 hours in Whistler.
