This wonderful 5 night Rocky Mountaineer Vacation gives you a chance to see the Canadian Rockies and stay in the most beautiful Canadian Rockies destinations, with all the convenience and freedom of your own full size car.

It’s the perfect trip if you want to experience the Canadian Rockies by train and still have the freedom to explore at your own pace.

Your rental car comes with unlimited mileage.

You’ll spend two days on the Rocky Mountaineer between Vancouver and Banff. From Banff, you’ll pick up your full size car for 3 days of adventures and exploration in the Rockies. You’ll see the world renowned Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Banff National Park and you’ll have time to visit the Columbia Icefields on one of the most scenic drives in the world.

The First Passage to the West Discovery Self-Drive starts on Sunday and Thursdays (and select Mondays) from Vancouver or Calgary between April 25 to October 3, 2021.

Rocky Mountaineer: SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf Service

  • SilverLeaf Service includes reserved seating in a custom built single level car with expansive windows curving into the ceiling, hot breakfast and lunch served at your seat, and complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during the day.
  • GoldLeaf Service – Reserved seating in the GoldLeaf elevated dome car. Breakfast and lunch are served in the GoldLeaf dining car and GoldLeaf passengers have access to the outdoor viewing platform.  Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included.
