Banff National Park & Rocky Mountaineer

The Rocky Mountaineer train between Vancouver and Banff National Park (service available both directions) is our most popular train trip for a number of reasons.

This two day Rocky Mountaineer trip gives you a chance to travel through Canada’s Rocky Mountains and spend a night, or longer, in the town of Banff, the most picturesque town in the Canadian Rockies.

Furthermore, Banff is only 55 km (34 miles) from Lake Louise, one of the world’s most iconic and popular destinations. We offer both day trips to Lake Louise from Banff  and packages with overnight stays at the renowned Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Finally, Banff is only 140 km (86 miles) from Calgary International airport, the closest airport to the Rockies.

Airport shuttles are available between Calgary airport and Banff several times daily and take 1 hour 45 minutes.

Because Banff is the visitor hub of the Canadian Rockies, the two day train trip between Vancouver and Banff forms the basis for many of our Rocky Mountaineer Rail packages.

There is NO train service to/from Calgary. However, all packages that begin or end in Calgary include a transfer between Banff National Park, or Lake Louise, and Calgary airport or downtown Calgary. We can also add tours and rental cars that begin in the Rockies and end in Calgary.

2 Day Train + 1 Hotel or 2 Day Train + 3 Hotels

We offer both a 2 Day / 1 Night train package and a 2 Day / 3 Night package. If you already have accommodations in Vancouver and Banff, or prefer to book your own, then the 2 day / 1 night package will be perfect for you.

If you want us to take care of your hotels in Vancouver and/or Banff, then the 2 Day / 3 Night package is the one to choose.

You don’t sleep on the train and don’t travel at night because we don’t want you to miss any of the scenery.)

7 Nights / 8 Days Banff and Lake Louise at Leisure

This is our most leisurely train package featuring both Banff and Lake Louise. You get 2 nights each in Banff and Lake Louise. You have time to relax and really take in the surrounding magnificence of the mountains, lakes and all the surrounding beauty.

Along with 2 days on the Rocky Mountaineer train between Vancouver and Lake Louise and your time at Lake Louise and Banff, you’ll visit the Columbia Icefield, ride the Ice Explorer and visit the Glacier SkyWalk. This 8 Day / 7 Night package also includes stays in Vancouver and Calgary.
